Sometimes at certain stages in our life we may feel as if we are alone [some may be feeling it right now]. Often these feelings can arise when a relationship ends, when we feel no one is supporting us emotionally or when we think we are doing all the work on a project or task our selves. Other times we may feel alone even when we are with or surrounded by other people.

These feelings of loneliness are illusions; part of our limiting beliefs which keep us transfixed on the external world that we physically inhabit. In truth, we are all interconnected with all other aspects of this world – both physical and spiritual. We are never alone; there is an interconnectedness to all aspects of this world.

Nothing happens by itself. A single tree growing in a field is not an entity on its own. It came there with assistance from the wind, soil, maybe a bird or man bringing the seed, water, sun, etc. These are amongst the many things which brought about its fruition and continue to enable it to exist. Whilst appearing by itself in the field it is connected to all around it and through those things connected to all else; just as we are.

So, we are never alone, never unconnected to another thing. We are one with all else in this world and as such should respect all things – for they are us.

Don’t ever feel alone. If you do, remember that everyone else and everything else is here with you – you just need to feel it, tap into it, let go of that singular feeling and relax into the cocoon of oneness.

Be mindful and enjoy

Sometimes its easy to drift off during the day and start reacting to things instead of making decisions from a point of centredness. This short video is just under 2 minutes long . Its great to watch when you need to reconnect and centre yourself. Watch the colours and the movement of nature….you are a part of that and it is a part of you.

Much has happened to me – both externally and most certainly internally – since I was greeting you all weekly. My inner journey is beginning to mellow slightly now though, my ascent is not as steep and I am getting back this week into doing many of the things which I did prior to my sojourn. However, as with many things that happen to us in life and this most certainly is the case with inner growth, I feel I carry a new attitude with me this time as I go back to things that were once so familiar. Possibly, not so much an attitude but a deeper understanding of my own place within this world along with a redistribution of the hierarchy of what is and is not important in life.

2010 thus far, has really been quite the humdinger for me and in all I have learnt a lot about myself – from experiences, from revisiting my teenage brain and from people telling me their impressions of me from years ago – all very enlightening. Whilst some of the external happenings have been upsetting and unexpected, they were none the less all part of a journey. A journey, which for the most part, I was a mere bystander to; not the ‘main attraction’.

Although my role was crucial it was also to be secondary. It is, I feel, about understanding that sometimes when we give of ourselves we do so, so others can fully receive. That it is in our acceptance of not being the centre and asking for nothing in return that we are gifted with both the knowledge of another’s depth as well as an insight into our own.

I am looking forward to getting back into blogging as well as catching up with some of my Twitter friends and inspirers who I have greatly neglected of late. I have been toying with some new plans for on here so I will keep you all posted and we shall see together what road we/I/the blog takes.

Enjoy

Scouting around on the internet over the course of a month I often come across some blog posts and sites that I find really interesting or helpful. So I thought it would be a good idea to do a list of these posts – and hopefully you will find them useful or interesting too. A lot of the surfing I do is based around things to improve my life but some stuff I just enjoy because it is pretty or funny. Some post are fairly recent and some a bit older.

My 5 favourite blog posts for this month:

1. The blog of Tim Ferris 5 travel lessons you can use at home

Rolf Potts, who wrote Vagabonding, guest posts on Tim’s blog writing about the five key things learnt whilst travelling can be incorporated in life at home.

2. Wisebread Simple Living: Overcoming negative inertia

This is a post from oct 2009 but I only found it during the last month. A few ways to help us stay on track and overcome and recognise some of the stuff that gets in the way.

3. The Satorialist

This is a photography blog on fashion – men’s and women’s. the pictures are fabulous and I love looking at all the style and maybe getting an idea or two. Apart from that I just enjoy seeing the pics.

4. Happiness in this world How to be great

Alex Lickerman writes a weekly blog reflecting on his life as a Buddhist physician. His posts are always insightful.

5. The rat race trap 12 questions you should be asking yourself

This blog has some great posts and this one I thought was very good if faced with a crossroad in life or if you felt a bit lost and not sure of which way to go.

Enjoy

.

As we place less and less emphasis on the external world for our happiness and fulfilment and move to find it within, we ironically become more united with others. We move from being alone to recognising our togetherness with all people and the universe itself.

The physical aspect of who we are is transient, finite and temporal and as such all that it experiences is fleeting. On the other hand the non physical of us is infinite and spans all times, all things, all everything.

The more we move away from having a reliance on the material side of our lives the more at one with ourselves we become; the more solid in the feeling of whom we truly are. Off hand comments by others ruffle our feathers less as they are like the wings of a butterfly against the sturdiness that we have now become. They flow like the proverbial water off a duck’s back. They cannot penetrate us for we fully believe they carry no weight in deciding or shaping who we truly are. The issue lies with the other person and their journey, not ours. By not absorbing the negative comments [energy] that is pointed in our direction it looses its momentum and returns to where it came from.

We do not feel the need to take things ‘personally’ because there is no personally, there is only oneness.

Those comments which slip through, and some do because we are not perfect, usually contain elements of truth which we do not wish to admit to our self. Yet because we are comfortable and confident with who we really are we recognise that there is learning for us in the comment or can laugh at the keen eye of the one who passed it.

Enjoy

There is a rhythm to nature as we all know. What we sometimes fail to remember is that we are all part of that natural world and likewise our lives have a rhythm to them. We must sleep, eat, take in fluids etc regularly so our basic functions can be realised daily. Like all other things in nature we have more to do than just our own basic requirements; we must fulfil that which others rely on to complete their basic requirements. If plants did not grow no one could eat them; if bees did not pollinate some flowers there would not be certain fruits. Similarly if there was no one who felt compelled to write we would have no idea what else is going on in the world, if no one wanted to be a scientist nothing new would be discovered.

When each of us is listening to our ‘natural voice’ we are guided to fulfil our own personal path for being here. Each one of us has a slightly different role to fulfil during our lifetime and it is important to everything that we fulfil it to the best of our abilities. We are part of the eco system of the world and just like any other living creature/thing (no matter how microscopic) we must all do what we are meant to do in order for everything to operate smoothly.

We are ourselves, yet at the same time we are part of a vastness that stretches beyond what we can imagine. Through this connection we become vast; we become more than our physical self. We are important. Without each of us in the world, the universe is not complete.

Enjoy
