It's a paradox. But when we act most like our unique selves that's when we have the most in common. We recognize each other in our differences, in our freedom. Great poem!

Lovely. It reminded me of a poem I wrote to all the women in my life who have made a difference to me. I thought I'd share it with you.

Song of my Heart

If you were to listen to the song of my heart
it would sing of my life, of which you are part
A ballad of love, tender, honest and true
full of sorrow and joy, shared by us two

Come closer; please listen to the song of my heart
the harmony’s perfect, can you hear your part?
no lyrics are needed, round after round
the melody’s simple, but oh what a sound

it brings out the sunshine,
it dances with rain
it heals and comforts my soul
time and again

Now that you’re closer my song’s really loud
it’s raucous and wild, it does my heart proud
for the strength and the courage that is you and me
partners forever, together we’ll be

You’re inside my heart now, tucked safely inside
sharing my journey, my friend and my guide
I honor your wisdom with a soft lullaby
for the moments we’ve shared and the tears that we’ve cried

My song is a carol, a beautiful hymn
praising the friendship my heart holds within
for all the power and the glory
contained within our precious story

So remember to listen to the song of my heart
we’re connected forever, though our bodies may part
in a medley of magic that will see us both through
with no thing to regret, between me and you.

I've long felt that the inner song we each have is part of the greater symphony of the Universe and that, in harmony, great things can happen. Love this post. Thank you.
