Sometimes in the course of our lives it all just gets too busy. Not necessarily in what we are doing but in what is going on in our minds. We become confused about what we are really doing here, why we are doing it and how we should be doing it. The it is personal to all, for each of our lives must resonate to its own unique vibration, but whilst we each have our own path the process by which we can find it often the same.
The noise that goes on in our head on a daily or hourly basis allows us to live in the world as we know it. It allows us to communicate with others, boil the kettle and be able to do all the actions the external world requires.
To find answers to other questions and to solve problems of a larger nature we must let our own internal voice have room to speak. Quietness and the giving of time to just listening is a very important part of our journey. All too often we forget we have the answers within us and we only need to let them come to the surface for our way to be lit.

True silence is the rest of the mind, and is to the spirit what sleep is to the body, nourishment and refreshment. ~William Penn

When you feel as if all is closing in on you and you cannot ‘see the wood for the trees’; be still. Take a few quiet moments, take a walk, have a bath etc, and let everything just be. When you allow the part of you that carries the greatest knowledge to have its say you tap into your own wisdom; your own guidance.
Our current lifestyle is so full of commotion and noise that we rarely do anything without external sounds. We may have the radio or telly on whilst in the house, the ipod on when travelling or walking and the music on in the car or a cd teaching us French. It all goes to drown out our own inner speak, a discussion with our ‘higher self’ that naturally takes place when we are silent – even when our body is occupied in activity.
Take time this week to remove a few of your external noises from your life – even for a week. Be at one with your higher self and listen to it as it tries to speak to you. Be calm, be peaceful, be yourself.

It is only when we silent the blaring sounds of our daily existence that we can finally hear the whispers of truth that life reveals to us, as it stands knocking on the doorsteps of our hearts
