Why a crappy day can really be a great day in your life

Sometimes in life it all just seems to be a bit harder than normal.  Everything seems an uphill battle and to motivate ourselves requires so much effort that it doesn’t seem worth it.  Those are the days when we build our character and defeat the dreaded Ego.  That small voice within us that wants to hold us back and keep us from being all we can be.

However, when those days come it is not a time to be downhearted or dejected; it is actually a time to rejoice – for you are coming to a crossroads in your journey and your Ego knows it.  Your ‘mini me’ self is trying it’s very best to keep you anchored in the external world and it is throwing up every tool it has to make sure you don’t go beyond what it has set as your limitations.

The purpose of our lives is to be happy

Dalai Lama

When you realise that these limitations are set for you and not by you, you regain the power over your own life and your future.  The Ego part of us is born out of what we have been exposed to and what we have taken in; it is our interpretation of what others have thought of us.  It is a false limit set by others who have allowed their Egos to rule their lives.

You choose

You choose to listen to that part of you today or you choose to listen to your ‘higher heart’; the calling inside you that lets you know that you can be everything and anything.  When you listen to your true voice you move into a path that enables you to fulfil the purpose for your being here.

The Ego is a cunning piece of work.  It will pull out all the stops to make sure that we stay small and live a life based around petty and shallow self centred ventures.  When a lot of our life has been centred around listening to our Ego it can be hard to retrain ourselves to ignore those limiting beliefs.  However, when next you want to do something and that voice within you says you can’t, here are my tips for overcoming it:

  1. Acknowledge it is your Ego talking
  2. Acknowledge you always have a choice which voice to listen to
  3. Rejoice, because you are at a crossroads
  4. Trust in your true self and listen to your higher heart
  5. Say ~

Thank you Ego for showing me your limitations, but they are not MY limitations.  I am not limited  and I choose to be all I can be

Enjoy
